MEXICO, N.Y. — Matthew Cox, 34, of Liverpool is New York’s newest multimillionaire. He is a warehouse worker at Dot Foods.

The Liverpool man scratched off a winning “$10,000 A Week For Life” ticket purchased at the Fastrac gas station in Mexico. Yolanda Vega, of the New York Lottery, presented the guaranteed $10,000,000 prize late Wednesday morning at the Main Street store.

The $10,000 A Week For Life scratch-off ticket costs $20.

Cox said he plans to keep working — both to keep his health insurance and keep busy. But he said he will use his winnings to pay off bills, buy an ATV he’s been eyeing and start a college fund for his children.

The lottery winner chose to receive his prize in yearly $520,000 installments. After taxes, he will get $349,336 every year for the rest of his life.
