How to Play Blackout Bingo with Your Content Marketing

If you want to be efficient with your content marketing you need to stop trying to reinvent the wheel and instead simply create more versions of the wheels you already own.

I’ve written before about this concept of “atomizing your content” and taking a big idea and deconstructing it into a series of micro-executions. But today I want to present this concept in a different way:

For maximum reach and impact, play Blackout Bingo with each of your overriding content marketing concepts.

What is Blackout Bingo?

For those of you raised on video games who perhaps have not had exposure to the endless, plodding pleasures of live bingo, the variant known as “Blackout Bingo” dictates that you must cover every spot on your card to win (instead of the customary vertical, horizontal, or diagonal line).

I want you to play the same game with your content marketing.

I want you to win at Blackout Bingo.

Content marketing success isn’t about more ideas, it’s about more executions of an idea.

How to Win at Content Marketing Blackout Bingo

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Figure out what you major content marketing theme or concept is. This is your bingo “card”.

Step 2: Consult the handy chart of potential content executions I have created for you. I left a few columns open so you can add your own if you have something specialized you might want to tackle like direct mail, or skywriting, or singing telegrams. These are your bingo “numbers”.

Step 3: For each of your major concepts, find a way to repackage/reimagine/reconstruct them to cover as many “spots” as possible. How can you communicate the theme with photos? With short video? With a live stream? With an infographic? With an ebook?

Step 4: Declare victory. A regulation bingo card includes 25 spots. I would love to recommend that you create 25 different executions for each content theme, but that might be a bit over the top, even for advanced practitioners. But if you can play and cover a 3×3 card (that’s one big idea, and 8 executions of it) let’s agree to consider that a Blackout Bingo success.

Important note: To do this successfully you MUST devise the big picture ideas/themes first, and then think about execution opportunities. If you find yourself saying things like “what we need is an infographic that….” you are doing it backwards.

Instead, you should say things like “An area where we can really help inform our prospective customers is….” and THEN (and only then) should you start considering the ways you can execute on that promise, on the way to Blackout Bingo.

Love It but.

So this game can be addictive. You can win several games in a row then suddenly have a looong losing streak so be mindful any money you deposit can go really fast. I’ve learned to take a break after several wins to prevent me from losing money too quickly. My only real complaint is that you can add a banking card or paypal to deposit money but when it comes time to withdraw any money you have won you can’t withdraw it to the same card or your paypal that you used to deposit money in the first place. they send you a check instead?? In an age where everything is electronic and online cause its faster you lose customers because of this minor flaw. its a pain to wait for a check then go to a bank to deposit it especially when you need the money quickly. its almost as if they want to keep the money you deposit and the money you win cause they know you dont want to go through alot of trouble to take the money back out of the app.

So like everyone else I saw the advertisements and what not while playing a different game and figured sure why not give it a try and I must say it does get pretty addicting to play everyday. The interface is nice, no lagging issues, and from what I’ve seen and played it’s pretty fair when it comes to playing other people whether in the for money rounds or in the for fun rounds (what I call them lol). They always match you with your level of player and sometimes yes you are the competitor and sometimes you are the challenger. All depends on who is playing and is online at the moment. You do get some of the same people at times, but I think that’s just luck of the draw dependent upon when you are playing.

As for those saying you can’t win money, yes you can. I’ve won over $1000 playing just the Bingo game alone. But I do play some of the other matches that are labeled “brackets” and in those you can win a higher dollar amount. They also have special events where you can win prizes and larger sums of money and yes, they do deliver on what they say you will win if you do win whatever prize that is up for grabs. All in all I really like this game and spend a good amount of time on their other games too because they’re all pretty fun and super addicting! If you don’t like to gamble then don’t gamble and only play the free portion and if you do wish to gamble at a later time then you can.

Entertaining To and For events to complete take that longthe

Playing with real money keeps it interesting and the fact that you can play with no money as well makes it easier on beginners like myself. I have started playing for real money though and at first I felt like I was just barely breaking even but I started spending a little more money to play in events and to play in the brackets and I’ve won a few hundred already and have a check coming in the mail for my winnings I cashed out. I like that you can keep some of your winnings in the app and only have to cash out what you want to that way you still have money to play with. So far I have quite a few of the other SKillz games on my phone and I absolutely love playing all of them but this game in particular is my favorite. It has lots of other people playing at all times so it doesn’t long for events and matches to finalize so that your account can be credited for your winnings. Give it a try but practice before you play any cash games because you’d be surprised at how good some people are and might lose your money if your not prepared for a challenge. All in all I highly recommend this app
