Monday is Patriots’ Day, a state holiday in Massachusetts marking the Battles of Lexington and Concord and the start of the Revolutionary War. It is not a federal holiday.

Here’s a look at some of what is open and what is closed on Monday. As always, it is best to call ahead.

: Closed.

U.S. Post Offices and mail delivery: The post offices in , and will all be open and there will be mail delivery.

Trash pickup: No trash pickup, pickup is delayed by one day all week.

Banks: Banks generally close only on federal holidays. Call ahead.

MBTA commuter rail: Commuter rail to and from will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
