Don’t have time to run out to buy a Powerball or Mega Millions ticket? No worries. You can now buy it online

In Pennsylvania, Powerball and Mega Millions tickets no longer require a trip to a lottery retailer. They can be purchased online through a player’s iLottery account.

Buying a Powerball or Mega Millions ticket with the hope of making dreams come true has never been easier in Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania Lottery on Friday announced that players can now buy their tickets to these draw games through the iLottery platform at pailottery.com.

“Selling lottery online is a big part of our efforts to appeal to new customers and meet our players where they already are – which is online,” said Drew Svitko, the lottery’s executive director. “This is an important step that will help us continue generating funds to benefit older Pennsylvanians.”

Going the online route offers the same features that players can choose when buying a ticket at a lottery retailer. They can choose their own numbers or select the “quick pick” option to receive randomly selected numbers. An additional feature available for those choosing the “quick pick” online option is they can make changes to their numbers before finalizing their purchase. They also can buy multiple tickets as well as buy them for up to 26 drawings, or 13 weeks’ worth, in advance.

To buy tickets online, players must sign up or use their iLottery account and deposit funds to make a purchase. They are required to securely submit proof of identity and age since players must be 18 or older to buy tickets. One of the handy features with this is players will be able to view their transaction history, which includes past numbers they chose as well as the winning numbers.

There also are some player-controlled limits to set caps on the amount of money deposited and spent on ticket purchases in their account as well as ones to allow for “cool off” period of up to 30 days and to self-exclude from playing for one to five years. One more thing, players must be physically located in the state of Pennsylvania to buy tickets through their iLottery account.

Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot is estimated at $103 million and Saturday’s Powerball jackpot, $321 million.
