This Guy Answered An Impossible Question To Win Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye
Someone is already having an excellent Christmas.
Dodge’s five-week-long online competition has reached its climax with the first Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye delivered to a lucky winner. The winners of the “Dodge Horsepower Challenge: 5 Weeks. 5 Questions. 5 Challengers” competition are receiving a special-edition TorRed Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye each, complete with a custom “Hellcat Reindeer” badge on the exterior.
Pro wrestler and amateur petrolhead, Bill Goldberg, has been hosting the videos for the competition and has now delivered the first prize car to David Otero in New Mexico. It was surprising for Otero to have Goldberg deliver the car personally, but he looks far from unhappy about it.
This wasn’t your standard quick Google to find an answer kind of competition either. People entering the competition had to do some real math to stand a chance of receiving a shiny red Hellcat Redeye. The final question had us scratching our heads, doing some research, then pulling out a calculator to answer:
“His sleigh currently runs at 203 mph, but he needs it to reach 400 mph. If Goldberg is delivering presents at an altitude of 5,813.6 ft, with the same drag and weight of a 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, how much HP would he need to reach 400 mph?”
“Everyone of us had a moment (or more) in our school days when we questioned if any of this would help us in the real world. Well, all our math teachers should be proud, because more than 17,000 Dodge fans correctly solved what we thought were nearly impossible-to-answer challenges,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars, Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America.
Nearly-impossible is a stretch, but the five questions certainly were challenging. However, the clues on social media that narrowed things down to become multiple choice answers undoubtedly helped many.
“We hope you had fun. And congratulations to everyone who correctly completed the challenges. We wish we could give you all a Redeye,” adds Kuniskis.
